Litigator Who Opened Bradley Arant’s Dallas Office Goes Solo

The litigator who Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP lured away from his own boutique firm to help open its Dallas office four years ago has departed to open another new firm.

Veteran trial lawyer Richard A. “Dick” Sayles opened Sayles Law Firm at the beginning of June. In an email on Monday, Sayles told Law360 he thrives in the courtroom and doesn’t plan to stay out of it for too long.

Dick Sayles has spent his nearly five decades as a Dallas trial lawyer going, as Bob Seger would say, against the wind.

On Friday, Sayles announced that he has departed Bradley Arant to start The Sayles Law Firm with a unique business strategy: He is not seeking any new clients. He is hiring no additional lawyers. And his business plan calls for no future growth or expansion.
